Talent Tribute: Ana Munoz Jurado

Our Talent Tribute Monthly Feature is designed to celebrate the phenomenal staff that serve our Members.

Ana has been a dedicated member of the VALLEYLIFE team for the past 10 years, growing within the organization through hard work and a true passion for caring for others. She began her journey as a DSP I, became a Lead at the 56th Drive group home in 2021, advanced to Assistant Supervisor in 2024, and now serves as the Senior Supervisor for both the Lane and 56th Drive group homes as of 2025. Introduced to VALLEYLIFE by her sister, Ana quickly fell in love with the work and the impact she could make in the lives of those she supports.

Ana originally went to school to become a dental assistant and hygienist, but discovered her true calling was in this field, where she could build meaningful connections and provide compassionate care for Members every day. Known for her strong work ethic and dedication, she takes great pride in supporting both Members and staff while fostering a positive and supportive environment.

Born in Mexico and raised in Arizona since the age of 10, Ana is a proud mother of two daughters and a dog mom to her Pomeranian, King. Outside of work, she enjoys staying active through hiking, going to the gym, sports, and she also takes pride in her makeup and nail skills.

We sat down and asked Ana about her VALLEYLIFE experience as a whole, and this is what she had to say.

1. How would you describe your ideal day at VALLEYLIFE?

My ideal day would be one where my Members had fun at their day program and where we can work and do activities with the Members… My perfect day would involve me being out there with them.

2. What has your time at VALLEYLIFE taught you over the years?

I started when I was 18, and I’m 29 now, so it’s taught me a lot. I’ve learned how to work on a team, how to understand one another, and I’ve learned my Members’ likes and dislikes. Now, as a Supervisor, I’ve learned patience and how to be a good leader.

 3. Can you tell us what you enjoy most about interacting with Members?

Since my Members at 56th Drive are nonverbal, I love it when they smile; that is what makes me happy. I also enjoy when my Members’ families are feeling happy that their family Member is gaining independence and progressing in life.

4. What skills or qualities do you think are most important for success in your position?

In my role, you have to be a self-thinker, and you need to have patience, that’s all I can say. When Members aren’t able to immediately complete a goal, if you continue with that same routine and make it fun, they’ll complete it. It’s all about being caring, patient, communicative, and understanding.

5. Lastly, what do you hope to accomplish or learn in your future at VALLEYLIFE?

I want to grow. I listen to my boss a lot, so I want to continue to learn from her and maybe be at her level one day. I want to learn how to be a better supervisor and how to manage more responsibilities in the future.
