Talent Tribute: Christina Dockter

Our Talent Tribute Monthly Feature is designed to celebrate the phenomenal staff that serve our Members.

Christina joined the VALLEYLIFE team in May 2025 and quickly found a sense of purpose in her role. Inspired by the positive impact VALLEYLIFE has on the lives of its Members, she was eager to become part of an organization dedicated to helping others thrive.

One of Christina’s favorite aspects of the job is the opportunity to support Members and build meaningful connections with them each day. She is continually inspired by their positive outlook and ability to find joy in the little things. Although this is her first experience working with individuals with disabilities, she has found the work incredibly fulfilling and appreciates that every day brings something new and different.

Christina is an Arizona native and is a proud mother of five. Outside of her work at VALLEYLIFE, she enjoys crafting and doing outdoor activities like hiking and camping. She also has an athletic side and previously competed in three amateur boxing events at Wild Horse Pass and Fort McDowell Casino. At home, Christina shares her life with her family’s three pets: one dog and two cats.

1. How would you describe your ideal day at VALLEYLIFE?

My ideal day is one where I come in, get to be productive, and get the things done that I needed to get done for the day. If I’m able to meet the needs of the people I work with, it’s a good day.

2. What has your time at VALLEYLIFE taught you over the past year?

VALLEYLIFE has taught me that I can actually have a job that I enjoy, because I really do love being here. Regarding the Members, it’s just opened my eyes a lot more to something that I had never really had experience with before, so that part of it is really cool.

3. Can you tell us what you enjoy most about interacting with Members?

The Members are just always so uplifting and happy. They always know how to brighten your day, and it’s just really nice to be around that positive energy. I know that everyone has off days, but it always seems like so many Members are always in a good mood, and it just helps put you in a good mood.

4. What skills or qualities do you think are most important for success in your position?

To be successful in my role, you definitely need to be good at multitasking and problem-solving. I always want to be able to come up with solutions without needing to seek out somebody else. A lot of it is also being able to complete all of the different things that get thrown at you, because sometimes you’re dealing with multiple things at once.

5. Lastly, what do you hope to accomplish or learn in your future at VALLEYLIFE?

I just want to learn as much as I can about the organization. If someone from a different department comes to me, I just want to be able to help in any aspect or at least point them in the right direction if I don’t know the answer myself.
