About:
In the two years since joining the VALLEYLIFE family in January 2022, Barbara has become a lively presence within Frier group home. Her positive outlook on the world around her paired with a wealth of stories and experiences from throughout her life undoubtedly lights up the room around her.
Born in Tucson, Barbara was raised by her parents to keep a positive outlook and not let her disability prevent her from reaching her full potential. Throughout her life she consistently pushed herself to reach new limits and learn new skills, trying everything from beauty school to various other forms of job training. Prior to VALLEYLIFE, Barbara lived in the apartment she had shared with her partner of 18 years and had worked at Goodwill sorting donations.
Since moving into Frier, she has maintained her happy-go-lucky attitude and enjoys interacting with others. Some of her favorite things to do at home include playing cards and watching her favorite movies. When asked about her experience at VALLEYLIFE thus far, she shared that “It’s been good” and that overall she’s happy with her life.
