Our Talent Tribute Monthly Feature is designed to celebrate the phenomenal staff that serve our Members.
When Jessie Lovelace joined the VALLEYLIFE family in February 2024 as Accounting Manager, she brought with her more than a decade of experience in the field along with a true love for numbers. Having started her career in the restaurant industry, Jessie quickly discovered a passion for problem-solving and number crunching, which led her to pursue accounting full-time. Since then, she has built a successful career, earning her associate’s degree in accounting from Pikes Peak State College in 2017 and is on track to graduate with her bachelor’s degree at Colorado State University in Spring of 2026.

Although VALLEYLIFE is Jessie’s first role within the nonprofit world, her passion for helping others made VALLEYLIFE the perfect fit. Whether it’s helping out with fundraising events or spearheading administrative potlucks, Jessie finds joy in making a positive difference in the lives of the people around her.
Originally from Colorado, Jessie is now embracing Arizona life with her family. Outside of the office, she enjoys staying active, spending time with loved ones, and adventuring with her dogs. Jessie thrives on challenges and brings that same energy and determination to everything she does.
We sat down and asked Jessie about her VALLEYLIFE experience as a whole, and this is what she had to say.
1. How would you describe your ideal day at VALLEYLIFE?
My ideal day at VALLEYLIFE is all about feeling connected to the work and the people around me. I love diving into tasks that have real purpose—whether it's improving a process, solving a tricky problem, or just helping things run more smoothly. Working alongside a supportive team makes everything better, and seeing the impact of what we do keeps me motivated. If I can wrap up the day feeling accomplished and knowing I made a difference, that’s a win.
2. What has your time at VALLEYLIFE taught you over the years?
Since joining VALLEYLIFE a year and a half ago, I’ve really come to appreciate the power of teamwork and staying flexible. It’s been eye-opening to see how even the behind-the-scenes roles play a big part in driving our mission forward. I’ve learned that leading with empathy and integrity isn’t just important—it’s essential. Every day brings something new, and I’m happy to be part of a team that’s making a real difference.
3. Can you tell us what you enjoy most about interacting with Members?
What I enjoy most about spending time with our Members is getting to see their personalities shine. Every chat, every smile—it’s a chance to build trust and connection. I especially love being part of the events our Members participate in. Seeing their excitement, personalities, and joy in those moments is incredibly rewarding. It’s a reminder of how meaningful our work is and how much those shared experiences matter.
4. What skills or qualities do you think are most important for success in your position?
Being an Accounting Manager is all about staying sharp with the details, thinking things through, and knowing the numbers. Some skills that are just as important are leading with clarity, communicating well, and rolling with changes while keeping everything accurate and on track.
5. Lastly, what do you hope to accomplish or learn in your future at VALLEYLIFE?
Looking ahead, I’m excited to keep growing here at VALLEYLIFE—both in my role and as a person. I want to keep learning more about our mission and find new ways to contribute in a meaningful way. I’m always up for a challenge, and I’d love to build on my leadership skills and work more closely with other teams to make things better. Most of all, I just want to keep learning—from my coworkers, from experiences, and from the amazing community we serve.
