Our Talent Tribute Monthly Feature is designed to celebrate the phenomenal staff that serve our Members.
Before becoming one of the first friendly faces someone sees when coming to VALLEYLIFE’s main campus, Lorena had built a strong 15-year career for herself in corporate administrative world. Early in her career, she had the opportunity to explore the mortgage and credit card financial services fields but eventually found herself pulled towards the mission driven work of the nonprofit industry.
Since joining VALLEYLIFE in 2014, Lorena brought her skills and commitment to service to her roles of the Front Office Receptionist and Finance Clerk. She plays a key role in the daily operations of the organization by supporting both the front desk and the Accounting Department. Her position allows her to blend her administrative experience with her passion for helping others, ensuring that Members, staff, and visitors feel supported from the moment they arrive.
Outside of VALLEYLIFE, Lorena has built a warm and joyful home with her husband of 24 years, Mario. Together, they care for seven rescue dogs — Snookie, Bunny, Scooby, Sophie, Mickey, Wolfie, and Zoey — each one a cherished member of their family. Her love for animals is at the heart of who she is. Lorena is deeply committed to rescuing and fostering neglected or homeless animals, providing them with compassion, safety, and the opportunity to thrive.
As a proud Phoenix native, Lorena enjoys spending her free time in nature, on road trips, camping, practicing her photography, astronomy, and peaceful evenings with her family and pets. She especially looks forward to the fall and winter seasons, embracing the cozy atmosphere and festive celebrations with loved ones.
