Clipped Wings hold luncheon at VALLEYLIFE

Updated: Apr 18

Our main campus was buzzing this morning as VALLEYLIFE hosted a luncheon for the Arizona chapter of Clipped Wings, a longtime supporter/donor of VALLEYLIFE. A group of around 17 joined our Fund Development team for brunch and an opportunity for first-time guests to tour the organization.

Clipped Wings is a nonprofit organization made up of current, former, and retired United Airlines Flight Attendants and Stewardesses who seek to serve others within their communities. Since the 1950’s their organization’s mission has been to help individuals with developmental disabilities by getting involved with other prominent nonprofits like Special Olympics.

When the Arizona Chapter was first introduced to VALLEYLIFE nearly 20 years ago, it was a perfect match.

“We all fell in love with VALLEYLIFE,” Clipped Wings President Brenda Compton recalled. "VALLEYLIFE’s whole mission … we enjoy it so much.”

To this day, Clipped Wings has continued to be an active supporter of VALLEYLIFE, often volunteering their time at events like our Oktoberfest and Holiday Party celebrations. Clipped Wings members also attend and/or contribute to several of VALLEYLIFE’s larger annual events like our golf tournament and Friends of VALLEYLIFE breakfast.

“We wouldn’t be nearly as successful in all of our events without the support, help, and love of Clipped Wings,” said Margaret Stephens-Reed, VALLEYLIFE's Director of Fund Development.

In addition, the organization makes charitable contributions used towards life-enriching classes for VALLEYLIFE Members. Several Clipped Wings members even sew and donate bibs to help protect VALLEYLIFE Members’ clothes.

The event served as a great opportunity to catch up on exciting new projects VALLEYLIFE has in the works.
